Hi, I'm Colin
I’m a Royal Navy veteran who now teaches electronic engineering at HMS Collingwood, and a proud dad to two grown‑up sons. I found my way into dancing a few years back and quickly fell in love with it — first as a student, then as a Buddy (Lead Helper), and eventually as an Instructor with another jive school.
In 2026, I took the exciting step of branching out on my own and joining the Frankie’s team. It’s been an incredible journey already. Dancing has taken me all over the UK, Europe, and even America for workshops, weekends, and big events, and I’ve met some brilliant people along the way.
Outside the dance hall, I like to go paddle boarding in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. But dancing is my real safe space — the place where everything clicks. There’s nothing better than passing on what I’ve learned and watching people grow in confidence, find their groove, and develop their own style. That’s what keeps me coming back week after week.
Hi I'm Clare
I’m a dedicated nurse who has been working in the local community for over 30 years, and I’ve always believed in doing whatever I can to improve the well‑being of the people around me. For me, there’s no better way to lift spirits, boost confidence, and bring people together than through dance.
I’m usually easy to spot — I’m the one rocking bright pink hair, proudly showing off my love for all things Rockabilly and swing. Teaching is something I genuinely adore, and I’ll always do my best to support anyone who steps onto the dance floor, whether they’re full of nerves or full of excitement.
I started this style of dance with my husband, Steve, about five years ago, and I haven’t looked back since. It’s become a huge part of my life, and I’m passionate about helping others discover the same joy, confidence, and community that dancing has given me.

Hi, I’m Anna!
Sixteen years ago, I took a leap of faith and walked into a Salsa class on my own and I’ve been dancing ever since. That first spark quickly turned into a passion, leading me to explore Modern Jive, then Swing Jive, with a sprinkle of Ballroom, Lindy Hop, and Balboa along the way.
For the past 10 years, I’ve had the joy of coaching and teaching Jive, and I’m just as passionate about dancing today as I was on day one. There’s nothing quite like the energy, connection, and joy that dance brings.
I can’t wait to meet you and be part of your dance journey!
Hi I'm Steve
I’m Clare’s other half, and living proof that even a 6ft 7 guy with two left feet can learn to dance. I first dipped my toes into modern jive, had a brief (and very questionable) attempt at salsa, and then took the leap into swing jive when Clare and I decided to learn something special for our wedding dance in 2021.
Since then, I’ve completely fallen in love with the scene, the music, and the community. Dancing has gone from something I was nervous about to something I genuinely look forward to every week. Even better, I’ve discovered how rewarding it is to help others tame their own two left feet.
You’ll see me around at lessons, always up for a dance, a chat, or a laugh — and I’ll be stepping in for Colin whenever he’s not available to teach.

No team would be complete without our dedicated and passionate Dance Champions. These amazing individuals bring many years of experience between them, and they play a vital role in supporting our students.
During our courses, we pair Dance Champions with single students so everyone has a consistent partner throughout their learning journey. It’s a bit like having your own one‑to‑one mentor on the dance floor — someone who can guide, encourage, and help you grow in confidence week by week.
All of our Dance Champions volunteer their time because they genuinely love helping others discover the joy of dancing. Their enthusiasm, patience, and generosity are a huge part of what makes the Frankie’s community so special.
