FIRST STEPS ---- our absolute beginners swing jive course
£80 couple
£45 single lead or follow
If you are a single follow student who will need one of our lead champions please contact us before booking
Its back again - book now to secure your place! No experience necessary, doesn’t matter how many left feet you have, Frankie’s jive teams main goal is for a fun and friendly 5 week course, which by the end will provide you with enough moves to get you moving on the dance floor.
Swing jive is a fun, vintage style partner dance which is great to learn together, but if you don’t have a partner to learn with, we can provide you with a dance champion, who will be an experienced Jiver to support you through the course,
( our champions are all volunteers, we just ask our students who would like a champion to pay slightly more than the couple fee, to go towards their expenses, and we find that those learning with a champion do tend to progress very quickly as you have an expert on hand).
The absolute beginner’s course will teach you the basic 6 count footwork used in swing jive, the use of frame, how to lead and follow- this is a free style of dance, not choreographed, how to start the dance and a few simple moves and how to use them on the dance floor.
Please get in touch with us via the website, email or phone number provided if you wish to discuss your requirements for lead or follow champion, or you have any questions, we would love to hear from you, there’s no silly questions, if you are thinking it, someone else will be too!
And guys, don’t be shy- this is a partner dance, and it is a very welcoming environment- where for the duration of the dance you are in charge - that’s got to be worth plucking up the courage to step outside of your comfort zone and learn a new skill.
This style of dancing is recognised all over the country - in fact world-wide, the directors recently enjoyed a rockabilly festival in Spain, Frankie’s team will keep you up to date of events run locally and further afield for you to put your new skills into action and to hopefully fall in love with the vintage scene as we all have…..
